This indicator provides a measure of community health and well-being. Obesity has been linked to health risks such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. The indicator identifies how much an individual’s body weight departs from what is normal for a person of a particular height. This indicator is calculated as total percent of the population outside of this range, measured for the Houston Metropolitan Statistical Area.
